Of course the quickest way to come to Chiang Mai is by plain. From Chiang Mais airport you can fly to different destinations. There are daily flights to Bangkok. The airport is about 20 minutes from town.

Chiang Mai’s airport is the most important airport from Northern Thailand. Former minister Thaksin Shinawatra (who comes from Chiang Mai)pointed it out as the hub for all regional air connections. As a result of this policy, Thai Airways International increased the number of flights from Chiang Mai Airport. Meanwhile other airlines, like Bangkok airways, Air Asia and Nok Airlines followed.
